Questions about your subscription, the AI tan previews, or how Tanli uses your photo — start here, or email us directly.
We read every message and typically reply within 1–2 business days.
Open the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Tanli. You can switch between the Weekly and Quarterly plans or cancel there at any time; cancelling stops the next renewal, it doesn't refund the current period.
Weekly is $2.99 billed every week, and Quarterly is $9.99 billed every 3 months (US prices; the App Store shows your local price at purchase). Neither includes a free trial — you're charged when you subscribe, and every renewal after that.
It's a separate, one-time purchase from your subscription. It replaces your starting photo and makes a fresh set of tan previews from the new one.
From one photo of you, Tanli shows a few tan shades — Subtle, Bronze, and Mahogany — as a visualization on your own photo. Mahogany isn't shown if you told Tanli your skin always burns. Previews are illustrations, not a prediction or a guarantee of how your skin will actually respond.
With photo check-ins. Each check-in photo is compared with your starting photo and the preview shade you picked, and Tanli describes the change in plain words — for example, "Some visible change since your starting photo" — rather than a number. Photo comparisons are approximate and depend a lot on lighting, so check in at the same spot and time of day.
No. Tanli never suggests how much sun to get, and time outside never counts toward your tan — your progress comes only from your photos. If you want, you can time or log a session, and Tanli saves it with the UV Index at the time. If the sessions you log in a day reach a limit for your skin type, Tanli tells you it's time to get out of the sun. That limit is only a warning, not a safe amount.
Yes. Your starting photo, your tan previews and your check-in photos are stored privately with your account and are never shown to other users. Your starting photo is used to make your tan previews, and each check-in photo is compared with your starting photo. Photos in your Bulletin diary stay on your phone, including the copy of each check-in photo that's pinned there. The check-in photo itself is stored privately with your account, and removing the diary copy doesn't delete the check-in.
Tanli reads a live UV Index for your current location from Apple WeatherKit (with Open-Meteo as a backup) and shows it with its standard category, from Low to Extreme. It's there as information, and it's saved with any session you time or log. Location access is needed for this — without it, Tanli can't show the UV Index for where you are.
Tan previews are AI visualizations, not predictions, and photo comparisons are approximate. Tanli isn't a medical tool — see a doctor about anything that concerns your skin.
